GALLAGER & KENNEDY ELECTS EIGHT NEW SHAREHOLDERS
PHOENIX, ARIZONA; The Phoenix law firm of Gallagher & Kennedy announced today the election of eight new shareholders: Dana Stagg Balknap, Joseph E. Cotterman, Jeffrey D. Gross, Barry D. Mitchell, Don B. Petrie, Adam A. Studnicki, James R. Taylor and Matthew W. Wright.
Six of the new shareholders: Joseph E. Cotterman, Barry D. Mitchell, Don B. Petrie, Adam A. Studnicki, James R. Taylor, and Matthew Wright, began their careers at Gallagher & Kennedy as first-year associates.
Dana Stagg Belknap practices in the areas of land use, governmental affairs and natural resources/environmental law. She graduated from the University of Texas (B.A., 1988) with honors (J.D., 1991) with honors.
Joseph E. Cotterman practices bankruptcy and creditor-debtor law. He graduated from Arizona State University (B.S., 1988) summa cum laude (J.D., 1991) magna cum laude.
Jeffrey D. Gross practices in land use and zoning. He also represents property owners in land use disputes against governmental entities and in other real estate related litigation. Mr. Gross graduated from Arizona State University (B.S., 1982) and from the University of Arizona School of Law (J.D., 1987) with distinction.
Barry D. Mitchell represents companies and individuals in criminal defense, administrative and regulatory, and complex fraud litigation. He graduated from Arizona State University (B.A., 1985) Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, and from Boalt Hall, University of California at Berkeley (J.D., 1991).
Donald B. Petrie practices in the areas of commercial, real estate, equine and product liability litigation. He graduated from the College of Santa Fe (B.A., 1987) cum laude, and from Arizona State University College of Law (J.D., 1991), Order of the Coif.
Adam A. Studnicki practices in the areas of civil litigation and dispute resolution. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in wrongful death, serious personal injury, product liability, insurance, malpractice, business and real estate matters. Mr. Studnicki graduated from Arizona State University (B.S., 1988) Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude, and from Harvard University School of Law (J.D., 1991) cum laude.
James R. Taylor practices health care law in the firm’s physician services and long term care groups. His practice includes the representation of physicians, physician groups and other health care providers in a variety of health care matters, including: Medicare/AHCCCS contracting and billing; fraud and abuse; antitrust; licensing matters; long term care issues; and general business issues. Mr. Taylor graduated from DePauw University (B.A., 1988) and from Indiana University School of Law (J.D., 1991) magna cum laude.
Matthew W. Wright’s primary practice involves the representation of school districts in civil litigation, administrative hearings, and risk management issues. He also practices in the areas of commercial and insurance litigation. He graduated from New Mexico State University (B.A., 1987) summa cum laude, and from Arizona State University College of Law (J.D., 1991).
